If you hear the indefensible defended enough times, confidently, by people with titles and credentials, it starts to sound like a good idea.
If you could just see what passes for “news” here in the USA, in both electronic and print media, you would understand American ignorance better.

As Lord Acton famously put it, power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. What lessons can New Yorkers draw from the Rupert Murdoch phone-hacking scandal in England? What lessons can we draw about the NYPD? by Leonard Levitt – Veteran police reporter and author

The US has become such a ridiculous collection of fools that no real crisis can be recognized. Instead, the country is mesmerized by a fake crisis. It appears that the American Dream and the Great American Economy were both built on one gigantic and unstable fault line. And the core is trembling!

HONOR YOUR DISSIDENTS
Both days, in fact, dishonor America’s war dead, omitting why they fought and died in vain, sacrificing their lives for imperial conquest, plunder, and new ones in an endless cycle of gratuitous violence, militarism, brutality, and destruction for power and profit.
